PAMOJA ENVIRONMENTAL
FOCUS is a non-profit making
environmental NGO in Tanzania registered in July 2012 with
Certificate of Incorporation Reg. No. 92451. PAMOJA is focusing on environmental education,
sustainable consumption, natural resources governance and research targeting marine, climate
change, forestry, wildlife, health and sanitation, freshwater, energy including solar as well
as environmental awareness issues related to oil and gas exploration and extraction. PAMOJA is
working both at the national level specifically on policy issues and research but mostly
anchored at the grass-root level finding viable and workable solutions with rural communities on
their day-to-day’s operational challenges on making surrounding environment suitable to support
viable lifestyles and sustainable livelihoods on the stable environment.
Field offices: PAMOJA’s Mtwara office is an environmental awareness office for marine conservation involved in capacity development and promoting sustainable lifestyles and livelihoods of the local communities. PAMOJA’s Mtwara office is currently implementing a two year project for "improving community participation in marine resources management in 18 villages within the Mnazi Bay-Ruvuma Estuary Marine Park".

The Trustees of PAMOJA are Mr. Oliver Mhaiki (former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice), Rev. Ernest Kadiva (Deputy General Secretary, Evangelical Lutheran Church Tanzania - East and Coastal Diocese) and Dr. Lydia Kimaryo (Senior Education Consultant and a Lecturer at the Sebastian Kolowa Memorial University (SEKOMU-Lushoto) & former Teacher Trainer, Morogoro Teachers’ College).
